It will be a rainy end of the month in Montreal, with 30 to 50 mm expected over the weekend beginning Saturday afternoon into Monday, with a break Sunday afternoon.
Mother Nature is in full force this week as Montreal is expected to be hit with over 40 millimetres of rain in the next few days. Environment Canada (EC) has now issued a rainfall warning for the Island of Montreal and its surrounding areas.
A total rainfall amount of 40 millimetres is expected until Monday morning. The federal weather department said that localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible due to the excess rainfall. The city of Montreal has identified eight zones across the island that are most at risk for flooding.
