A single judge bench of the Karnataka HC dismissed a plea by three executives of the apparel firm, Lifestyle International Private Limited, for quashing of an abetment to suicide case registered against them over the death of a 35-year-old visual merchandising executive, Vivek Raj, on June 4 this year in Bengaluru.

In a video posted on social media before his death, Vivek Raj said he had to endure caste-based abuse and harassment.

The district court, while granting bail to the two executives, suggested that since Vivek Raj was undergoing treatment for depression, further investigation was needed to determine if his suicide was abetted.
