Taste Company launches ready-to-eat meals - The Hindu BusinessLine

The Taste Company, a food start-up, has entered into ‘ready-to-eat food market. The firm, which focusses on ready-to-eat breakfast and Indian meals menu, was started by Way2online founder Raju Vanapala a year ago.
After piloting the sales for six months, the firm puts two non-veg meal boxes (chicken curry rice and prawn rice) and vegetarian meals on offer on a variety of platforms. The products are priced in the range of ₹89 to ₹149.
“It is quite easy to prepare the meal using our products. Consumers just need to pour hot water and can eat directly from the box,” Raju Vanapala, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company, said. ....

Hyderabad firm forays into ready-to-eat food segment

Hyderabad firm Instahot Foods, as part of its foray into the ready-to-eat food segment has set up a factory that can produce two million meal boxes a month.
Stating that the factory, with advanced dehydration and freeze drying technology unit, has been established at Patancheru here, the company said nearly $3 million (around ₹ 22 crore) had been invested on the infrastructure and research and development. The company has a 40-member team right now, a release said.
The focus of the products, marketed under ‘The Taste Company’ brand is on Indian breakfast and meal categories. It is the first firm in the country to offer non-vegetarian ready-to-eat meals. Way2online founder Raju Vanapala, who launched the venture a year ago, said the customer response during the pilot project undertaken in the last six months had been encouraging. ....

Mumbai, Jan 11: Sterlite Power, a leading global power transmission player, on Monday said that it has raised Rs 200 crore in debt financing from Allianz Global Investors (Allianz GI) – one of the world’s leading investment managers with focus on sustainable investments.
This transaction is one of the first infrastructure sector financing deals for Allianz GI in India. The Rs 200 crore facility from Allianz GI has been raised as a non-convertible debenture with a three-year tenure and is part of the larger refinancing exercise undertaken by Sterlite Power to reduce its holding company borrowings. ....
