Jagdeep Dhankhar accused Jairam Ramesh of misconduct and stated that he is not fit to be a member of the Rajya Sabha. Congress MPs had questioned Dhankhar for giving the floor to RLD s Jayant Singh to speak on the decision to confer the Bharat Ratna on his grandfather Chaudhary Charan Singh.
Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar told Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge the MPs who were suspended during the winter session of Parliament created "deliberate disorder" and suggested a meet between them on December 25 to discuss the issue.
In his reply to the Chairmans letter, Kharge not only justified the Opposition demand for the Home Ministers statement in the House on security breach but also asserted that the mass suspension of Opposition MPs “is detrimental to the core principle of Parliamentary democracy”. Kharge, however, accepted the Chairmans invite to him for a discussion but with the hope that the latter will "accommodate the Oppositions concerns".
