Ramesh Vaghela Rajkot: A 51-year-old man got electrocuted when his axe accidentally touched an electric wire while cutting branches of a tree to feed his goats near Railway colony on Jamnagar road in Rajkot on Monday. The deceased was identified as Ramesh Vaghela, a resident of Indiranagar in Raiyadhar area of the city. According to police, Vaghela had climbed a tree on government wasteland to cut leaves and branches of a tree to feed his goats. He was using an axe to cut the branches. “Accidentally the axe touched a live overhead power cable that was passing near the tree and Vaghela got electrocuted,” said police. ....
Rajkot: A farm labourer was detained by Virpur police on Tuesday for killing a man from his village last month. The accused Vinod Vasava was nabbed after investigation revealed that the victim Nilesh Vasava had died from drowning after the former pushed him in the well on November 27. The duo is native of Gundiya village in Bharuch district and work in Kerali village in Jetpur taluka. Nilesh’s body was found on November 29 and it was suspected that he accidentally fell in the well and died. “We were searching for him after his wife lodged a missing person complaint, but once his body was found a case of accidental death was registered. However, our investigation revealed that he had been killed as he had illicit affair with the accused’s wife,” said sub-inspector R N Bhojani of Virpur police station. ....
