WEST POINT, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi man arrested in a nearly two-decade old cold case will have an initial court appearance Friday. Frederick Fitzgerald Gandy, 55, of West Point, was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with attempted murder, rape, burglary, and attempted armed robbery, the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reported.

TUPELO • At least two northeast Mississippi police departments are seeing an increase in fake or replica guns, as well as real guns.
West point police say the incident happened Sunday night around 9:30 at the "Quick and Easy" gas station on Brame Avenue.
16-year-old Austin Hill was arrested.The victim in the incident is not a student of West Point High School.But, the two did know each other.
