(Courtesy of SnapJAX) JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Hundreds of volunteers got in on the icky action Saturday morning and did more than “talk” some trash to help News4Jax and Beaches Go Green give three spots around our area a clean slate. Volunteers gathered at 9 a.m. to start picking up litter at three sites throughout our community.

This unofficial holiday is celebrated annually on Feb. 17, and it’s all about doing your part, however big or small, to make a difference in our community. The general idea is that, since kindness is contagious, your actions will inspire others to give back and pay it forward.
There’s nothing like the feeling of being pleasantly surprised by someone doing you a favor or lending a hand. Except for maybe the satisfaction that comes with going the extra mile to help someone else out, whether it’s a friend or stranger.

You’re invited to join our Positively Jax Community Cleanup with Beaches Go Green. We’re welcoming volunteers to help us pick up trash and litter at three sites across the area. This community cleanup is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20 at the following locations: the Atlantic Boulevard Beach Access in Atlantic Beach, Ocean Front Park in Jacksonville Beach and the Mickler Beach Access in Ponte Vedra Beach.
It was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who once said everyone can be great because everyone can serve. As our way of honoring Dr. King’s legacy on the national day of service, News4Jax and Feeding Northeast Florida hosted a food drive on Monday.
