The Town of Surgoinsville passed a 5% employee raise with a 3% buffer for employee promotions to its previously approved 2023- 2024 budget.

Gary Mehler along with Deputy Marcus Stigall were called out to a cemetery on Ward Cemetery Road where two people were reportedly passed out in a car. Deputies found the vehicle there with a woman, later identified as 31-year-old Whitney Collier, in the drivers seat and a man, later identified as Randy Collier, in the passenger seat.
