While no one was injured in the Ahmedabad incident, two other projects by Ranjit Buildcon Limited had also witnessed accidents in Surat, one leading to a death.
The development comes as the court noted that the earlier directions issued by the HC for curbing pollution and discharge of wastewater in the river have not been followed.
Even before the Jhulto Pul in Morbi crashed last year, Gujarat had seen some mishaps. In the last few months, however, construction or design faults linked to at least eight bridges — some of them new or yet to be inaugurated — were reported. Vadodara: The National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) which is implementing the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project has opened technical bids for two contract packages for construction of bridges for high speed rail (HSR) corridor in Gujarat as well union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. So far, five bidders have submitted their bids for the package to construct one prestressed concrete bridge and four steel truss bridges between Vadodara and Ahmedabad stretch.
