Photo / Supplied NZ Herald A 53-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to a charge relating to an alleged incident where an Auckland partygoer was stabbed with a champagne flute. The man was arrested earlier today and was granted interim name suppression when he appeared before a community magistrate in Auckland District Court this afternoon.

It s understood a party-goer was taken to hospital after he was stabbed in the neck with a champagne flute at a 40th birthday party on Rawene Ave on April 16.  Police said on Wednesday a 53-year-old man has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm over the incident, which took place at a multi-million dollar home that has won a major architectural award.

Police charged the man with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He was due to appear in Auckland District Court later today. The Herald has reported that a guest was allegedly stabbed with a champagne flute at a party in Westmere on Friday night.
