Better still, Tahliaâs first winner the Kevin Miller trained Absolute Bonza smashed the course record when running 58.40 seconds in the Trademark Benchmark 65 over 1000 metres. Whatâs more, Absolute Bonza lumped 65.5kg which included Tahliaâs four-kilogram allowance. No wonder the lightly framed lass struggled to carry the large saddle with lead aplenty in the bags up the stairs to the scales to weigh-in. ....

In further testimony to the confidence in Rockhampton racing, buyers splurged $1.45 million, purchasing 73 yearlings for a new record average of $19,917. Never before in the history of the sale, which predates 1988, has anywhere close to a million dollars in receipts been realised. ....
