Central Punjab storm into Pakistan Cup final Sports January 30, 2021 KARACHI: Central Punjab blasted their way into the final when they demolished Sindh by 127 runs in the first semi-final of the Pakistan Cup One-day tournament for First XI here at the SBP Ground on Friday. Chasing 340, Sindh’s batting failed to live up to the billings and the whole team were bundled out for 212 in the 37th over. Khurram Manzoor top-scored 88, hitting 12 fours in his 73-ball feat. Left-hander Saad Ali chipped in with 55-ball 54, striking five fours and one six. Fast bowler Mohamamd Ali left a good impression, taking 3-31 in 6.5 overs. Leggie Usman Qadir (2-50) and Ahmed Bashir (2-40) also ably backed Ali. ....
Danish hits maiden hundred as Sindh beat KP Sports January 21, 2021 KARACHI: Danish Aziz hit his maiden List hundred as Sindh defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by four wickets in their seventh round fixture of the Pakistan Cup One-day Tournament for First XI here at the SBP Ground on Wednesday,. The 25-year-old left-handed batsman, who recently toured New Zealand with Pakistan Shaheens, struck unbeaten 101 as Sindh chased a stiff 276-run target with eight balls to spare for the loss of six wickets. Danish hit six sixes and five fours in his solid 102-ball, match-winning knock. At one stage, Sindh were reeling at 118-5. However, Danish added 148 runs for the sixth wicket with in-form Hassan Khan, who scored gutsy 51 off 55 deliveries, striking two fours. Saad Ali made 64-ball 49 with five fours. Left-arm spinner Asif Afridi got 3-60 in ten overs, while fast bowler Arshad Iqbal claimed 2-12 in 2.4 overs. ....
Hassan magic helps Sindh down Balochistan Sports January 19, 2021 KARACHI: Left-arm spinner Hassan Khan produced his career-best figures to enable Sindh to down Balochistan by seven wickets in their sixth round fixture of the Pakistan Cup One-day tournament for First XIs here at the UBL Sports Complex on Monday. Hassan captured 4-15 in just 3.3 overs as Sindh dismissed Balochistan for a paltry total of 116 in the 26th over. Mir Hamza, left-arm pacer, ably backed Hassan by taking 2-36 in six overs. Skipper Imran Farhat top-scored for Balochistan, hitting five fours in his 62-ball 32. Adnan Akmal got run out on 19 which featured three fours. ....
Sindh, Northern, KP register victories in Pakistan Cup Sports December 21, 2020 KARACHI: Sindh, Northern and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday registered victories in the third round of the Pakistan Cup One-Day Tournament 2020-21 for Second XI here at different venues. At KCCA Stadium, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded a 126-run win over Balochistan. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa scored 262 for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 53 off 88 balls (four fours, one six). Mehran Ibrahim contributed 50 off 59 balls (four fours). Ashfaq Ahmed scored 49 runs. Zainullah took three wickets for 55. In reply, Balochistan were rolled over for 136 runs in 34.5 overs. Abdul Rehman Muzammil top-scored with 53 off 81 balls (three fours, one six). Sindh thump KP, Mukhtar hits ton in Southern Punjab win Sports December 19, 2020 KARACHI: Sindh defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 69 runs in their second round fixture of the Pakistan Cup One-day Tournament 2020-21 for 2nd XI sides here at the KCCA Stadium on Friday. After being invited to bat, Sindh were folded for 281 in 49.2 overs. Ammad Alam top-scored with 68-ball 73, smashing seven fours and four sixes. Jahanzaib Sultan chipped in with a 48-ball 43, hitting six fours and one six. Both openers shared 102 runs for the first wicket association. Other notable contribution came from Saim Ayub who scored 55 off 61 balls. His innings included two fours and as many sixes.
