are live pictures from tel aviv. russian officials say... two ukrainian missiles have targeted a bridge which links russia to the crimean peninsula. moscow says they were shot down and the kerch bridge remains undamaged. there are plumes of smoke rising nearby. kyiv has yet to comment. there have been at least two other attacks targeting the bridge — a key re—supply route for russian forces in the past few months. hundreds of south koreans have marched through the capital, seoul, in protest againstjapan's plan to release waste water from the fukushima nuclear plant into the ocean. the government in tokyo and the international atomic energy agency say the process is safe. but china and other countries in the region are worried it may harm the marine environment, including by contaminating food. in seoul, protesters called onjapan to abandon the plan and expressed their anger at the south korean government for endorsing it.
said russia's main fighting force on the western side of the river "now looks highly vulnerable" because of the strikes on the bridge. in fact the russians are hurrying reinforcements to the south to try and secure the line. it is the the high mobility, artillery rocket systems supplied to ukraine by the united states, that are making a difference. but the re—supply is still coming too slowly. amd the himars are needed on multiple fronts. naturally, after months of bombardment, the ukrainianians are desperate for some good news and taking back kherson, one of the first cities to fall would be an enormous coup. not to mention, it would severely undermine russia's attempt to paint the occupation as a success. joining me now is former ukrainian defence minister andriy zagorodnyuk. lovely to have you back with us. from the outside it doesn't appear yet as though the ukrainians retaking territory quickly. what evidence do you have that the course of the war is starting to change?

couple of days. so let's not count the ukrainians out. one, the russians continue to underperform. they're having logistical problems, re-supply and fuel problems. their morale is low. they're encountering desertion and of their soldiers and many didn't know they were being sent into combat. and they continue to be fierce and kraegood fighters and fight on their home turf and defensive weapons an stingers are starting to flow in, in larger numbers, to the ukrainians. that said, the russians still have an overwhelming combat advantage on paper. the odds are against the ukrainians just on paper, but we know that odds don't fight and win wars, people do. so we have to continue to get the flow and weapons and equipment as fast as possible and get the things in the hands of the ukrainians that they need to win this. >> every day is clearly critical. as i mentioned, you've been briefed on the situation in
