School district needs to reconsider salaries for retired teachers to fill shortage
Anthony “Tony” Keller was born July 21, 1968, to Anton and Betty (Marquette) Keller. He grew up on a small dairy farm in Forada, Minnesota, along with sister, Kris and brothers, Jamie and Frank. Tony graduated from Jefferson High School in 1987. He attended Alexandria Technical College for commercial art and then went on to attend Moorhead State University to pursue a degree in art education.
With the new school year at Macomb School District 185 comes new employees as well. This year, the district has filled 24 positions.

“Unfortunately, the last two years, we have really seen an impact with the children, because of just the inconsistency of their scheduling. They had some in-person then they were switched to virtual and it really just depends on what type of learned a child is whether they were able to engage,” Lalu said. “There were kids that desperately needed intervention outside of school.”
