A Real American Hero Will Soon Join the Brawl If you grew up in the ’90s or during that brief but glorious period in the 2000s when the show was a meme, you’re probably familiar with  GI Joe, or at least the opening song. Which, for the record, is a real earworm. The cartoon focused on a group of very American military figures with ridiculously cool codenames fighting the evil, snake-themed terrorist group Cobra. Sounds like exactly the kind of brightly-colored, stupidly awesome franchise that would flourish in the world of Fortnite. Lucky for us, this tweet from the 

Epic has repeated that method of hinting at the next hunter; earlier today, it published another audio transmission, this one featuring Agent Jonesy talking about the next hunters he found — and he’s likely referring to the G.I. Joe team. Why do we assume that? The transmission ends with the phrase, “And knowing is half the battle.” Sound familiar? That’s probably because you’ve heard it before during the end-of-episode PSAs that were given in the old G.I. Joe cartoon. That all but confirms that Epic will soon add at least one G.I. Joe team member to the game soon.

Fortnite Twitter account shared a radio transmission message from Agent Jonesy, seemingly a brief teaser for the next event or crossover headed to the massively popular multiplayer game. Specifically, the teaser makes plenty of mentions that imply the next franchise crossover for the game will be GI Joe, including several new skins inspired by the animated series/action figure line. Fortnite fans are used to crossovers, but the surprises never end. Hot off the heels of its big Marvel crossover, it looks like Epic may be planning to introduce another big franchise in its game — though in a smaller way, at least based on teasers players have noticed on the battle royale island. We’re only days into the new Fortnite Season 5, but we’ve already gotten one crossover (in the form of the Mandalorian skin), and all signs point toward a big new addition in coming weeks. One such addition may reveal the reason one new battle royale POI is surrounded by high walls.
