And the reconciliation was a reconciliation on the backs of black men. the falling out led to our freedom, the reconciliation led to our basic reenslavement. so the statues are a reflection of that. the statues that popped up across the south and north, in princeton university, across the board, all of that is a reflection of the nation choosing to turn its back on the idea that we are genuinely multi-racial democracy. we're still battling, fighting the choice we made. so that statue coming down in virginia, in richmond, is just an indication of the swirling winds around us. >> i know we have ...
