For the second time in less than a decade, Northeast Pennsylvania experienced heat in 2020 like never before.

There won’t be much sunshine Saturday, but it will still be unseasonably warm. Even with mostly cloudy skies by the afternoon, highs jump into record territory again. Highs climb back into the low-to-mid 80s Saturday afternoon. A cold front will change things up again for Sunday and especially Monday and Tuesday.

  The forecast is for damaging winds of up to 70 mph that could blow down trees and power lines. NWS is predicting widespread power outages and difficult travel conditions.   The storm will be accompanied by heavy rains that could cause flooding in low-lying areas.
