georgia, and candidates have got to be feeling the pressure to get above 50%. reporter: hey there, john, good afternoon to you. not a soul in georgia wants to see a runoff. they are sick of this campaign season, they want it to be over. it really comes down to voter turnout now, and we ve seen both campaigns really hitting that hard on the trail this weekend and today. in fact, i just caught up with former ambassador nikki haley who is out here in hiram, georgia, stumping for herschel walker, the republican. she s been telling voters, look, do not listen to this red wave stuff, and i just asked her, does that mean that republicans are nervous? watch. are republicans nervous going into this election day? you ve got two more days really one more day left of campaigning. it s a neck and neck race. it s not as much being nest as it is about being humble and disciplined. it s about making sure we let americans know that two years of this is enough, and if you don t like what s happeni
just out there saying they will do something but won t. in this first poll, 59% of voters say that democrats had a clear plan on what they would do to keep power, 55% that s not good for either party, but it does show you that democrats who spent this time and money on abortion, january 6th, and saying that republicans are worse or don t have a plan, that message has not stopped. maybe he s got it all figured out: relax and have your old boss doing the work. i don t think he knows he s being ignored. i think they have competing events on a soundstage. i think he s convinced he s out there campaigning and has no idea. you have to stop talking about shellacking. i m telling all of my liberal friends not to fall for this red wave stuff. it s all exaggeration. you don t even have to vote. [laughter] there is no way that federman, cary lake or herschel walker is going to win.
trump is too persuasive for he is own good, right? it s very interesting timing that this poll comes out now as a way of saying, yeah, whatever the president s saying, you need to vote, forget the red wave stuff. maybe he clues in as well. he s a master at shaping this narrative. it is fascinating to me as somebody who covers him day to day to see how it s playing out in these numbers that people are believing him when he says, don t worry, we ve got this sewn up. there s an effect to that. i had a republican pollster say to me, i m not counting on trump because the trump voters doesn t like anybody in congress. when you have this conversation about a check on trump, they say, oh, trump is a check on the swamp. trump is a check on speaker pelosi, or speaker ryan. it also doesn t help you where most of these battlegrounds are, right? most of these battlegrounds are districts that are suburban, upscale districts, and more urban areas. the suburban the way the suburb suburban, colle
