Redmi Note 10 Pro Max design
Xiaomi has gone in a slightly new design direction with this generation. The small touches that the company collectively calls its ‘Evol' design language can be seen mainly around the frames and camera modules of the Redmi Note 10 series. Not much is different on the front, which is nearly all screen with narrow borders and a relatively small embedded front camera right at the top. This camera for some reason has a very shiny silver ring around it, which is extremely distracting and somewhat negates the purpose of reducing the size of the camera hole.

This year’s Redmi Note 10 series has got all the possible upgrades Xiaomi fans have been asking for years. However, Xiaomi giving 5G connectivity a miss on even the most expensive Pro Max variant posed questions, especially with Realme bringing 5G phones at much lesser prices. Xiaomi’s Manu Jain, however, has reached out to the fans explaining the reasons for skipping 5G. And, it is a simpler one than you assume. Jain, in a social media post, gives out a simple reason for skipping 5G on the new Redmi Note 10 series – cost. Adding a 5G chipset would have added up to the costs and made the entire Redmi Note 10 series pricier. With the lack of a 5G infrastructure, Jain believes there’s no point in adding 5G hardware that eventually drives up the cost of the phone. Redmi Note 10 features a 48MP primary camera along with ultrawide and Macro cameras.
The white back doesn't show any fingerprints.
Redmi is launching a duo of smartphones, the Redmi Note 10(₹ 11999 at amazon) being one of them. The phone brings a number of lucrative features to the segment, including a Super AMOLED display, a 48MP camera a massive battery and an arguably elegant design. We’ve been putting the phone through our test process and while there is still much work to be done, we can at least share with you our initial thoughts on the smartphone.
Redmi Note 10 Specifications
First, we must get the essentials out of the way. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 SoC, a very minor refresh of the two-year-old Snapdragon 675. Qualcomm’s chipset portfolio has ballooned significantly in the last two years, and they’re all over the place with their naming scheme. To give you some perspective in terms of where this chipset sits in the larger scheme of things, it is a top-tier 6-series chipset, but ranks below the 7-series such as the SD710 and the SD720 even. The SoC is manufactured using the aged 11nm process and features 2 Kryo Gold cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 6 Kryo Silver cores at 1.7GHz. Our test unit also comes with 6GB LPDDR4 memory, along with 128GB of on-board storage (UFS2.2). For those of you who are particular about their displays, you get an FHD+ Super AMOLED display. There’s no high refresh rate here, but Xiaomi says the display does sport a 180Hz touch polling rate. You also get 4 cameras on the back, of which two are the more practical ones. This is the 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8 Megapixel ultra-wide camera along with a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Redmi Note 10 also features a massive 5000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. There's also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that's been embedded into the power button.

Xiaomi believes the roll out will take few more years.
The Redmi Note 10 series has enough reasons to impress the interested buyers, but the lack of 5G support has become a topic of debate. The Redmi Note 10 series include three smartphones Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. None of these come with support for 5G. This came as a surprise as India is closer to 5G roll out than before with some telecom operators revealing their plans for the same. Xiaomi India Head Manu Kumar Jain has now come up with an explanation for the decision.
