Deming school board selects Vicki Chavez for Superintendent

DEMING – Longtime Deming educator Vicki Chavez was selected as Superintendent of Deming Public Schools on Monday, April 26, by the Deming Public Schools Board of Education. The board met on Saturday, April 24, 2021 to interview the finalists for the open Superintendent position. Two Advisory Committees, comprised of district staff and community members, also interviewed the finalists, and provided input to the board.
The board held another meeting on Monday, April 26, 2021 to review the Advisory Committee’s input and selected Chávez unanimously. Chávez will start in her new role on June 1, 2021, pending contract and salary negotiations. ....
