NEW DELHI, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) At least two people died and 15 injured after Ammonia gas leaked from a fertilizer manufacturing plant in India s northern Uttar Pradesh state, a local police official confirmed with Xinhua over phone on Wednesday.
The incident occurred late Tuesday night at the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) in Uttar Pradesh s Phoolpur district.
The accident took place in a urea processing unit. An ammonia plunger broke which led to the leakage of ammonia gas. The workers nearby were affected and were taken to the hospital, IFFCO Public Relations Officer Vishwajeet Srivastava was quoted as saying. ....
