SINGAPORE: An online poll sexualising female Muslim religious teachers is being investigated by the police as Singapore leaders condemned the poll.
President Halimah Yacob and Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Masagos Zulkifli are among those who called on the authorities to investigate the poll ranking female asatizah (religious leaders).

In response to CNA's queries, the Singapore Police Force said on Thursday (May 27) that they have received a report about the poll and investigations are ongoing.

Netizens pay tribute to deceased S'porean with special needs, often spotted at mosques

Singapore – The death of a Singaporean with special needs garnered overwhelming condolences and tribute from the online community as he was someone who has left a smile on many.
Members of the public who frequently visit mosques in the Geylang Serai area might have recognised Muhammad Fadil Sulaiman, a regular in the vicinity. One would remember him as someone with a smile on his face, happily greeting everyone he meets. He has left an indelible impact on many people’s lives, noted mustsharenews.com on Thursday (Dec 17).
According to a BERITA Mediacorp report, the lively Mr Fadil passed away on Wednesday (Dec 16) after collapsing at an MRT station.

According to
Berita Mediacorp, he is believed to have collapsed at an MRT station at around 2:40pm on Wednesday.
He was later brought to Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
A familiar face
Fadil was often seen at mosques and was a familiar face for many in the Malay community.

Al-Mukminin Mosque took to Facebook to share news of Fadil's passing.
It said that he had been frequenting the mosque since he was a teenager and attended religious events often.
The Facebook post has since garnered over 600 shares and 1,400 reactions in less than a day.
The founder of The Orange Ballroom, Syah Ibrahim, also shared the news and provided updates on his social media page.
