Cyber Police Kashmir Saves Rs 6 Lakhs Lost In Remote Access Mobile Application Scam
SRINAGAR: Cyber Police Station Kashmir Zone, Srinagar on Wednesday claimed to have recovered Rs 6 lakh from online fraudsters.
In a statement, Cyber Police said that multiple complaints were received in past one week wherein complainants were duped by fraudsters through ‘Remote Access Mobile Application Scam’.
“Many complainants were duped of lakhs of rupees on the software platform. The scamsters impersonated BSNL/JIO customer care representatives and sent fake messages on the victims’ mobile phones asking them to complete the KYC of their sim cards and giving a warning message that the SIM cards will be deactivated in case they failed to comply with the directions,” the Cyber Police in a statement said. ....
