EPO and EUIPO add Technical University of Munich to trainee programme

The European Patent Office (EPO) and the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) have signed an agreement with the Technical University of Munich (TUM) to offer the university’s graduates IP work experience.
The joint agreement will see TUM take part in the Pan-European Seal Professional Traineeship Programme an initiative that offers graduates year-long IP traineeships at EPO and EUIPO
“In these challenging times, it is more important than ever to invest in the IP minds of tomorrow so that they can act as ambassadors for IP and the benefits it brings,” said EPO President António Campinos. ....

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - One of China’s key short-term money rates surged to a near six-year high on Wednesday as investors worried that policymakers may be starting to shift to a tighter stance to cool gains in share prices and property markets.

Turkish Central Bank Keeps Interest Rates Unchanged

The Turkish Central Bank on Thursday kept the policy rate constant in line with market expectations.
The bank s policy rate – also known as the one-week repo rate – stands at 17%, the bank said in a statement, noting that additional monetary tightening would be delivered if needed.
The decelerating impact of the strong monetary tightening implemented in November and December MPC meetings on credit and domestic demand is expected to become more significant, the bank said.
Therefore, it added, the effects of demand and cost factors on inflation are projected to diminish gradually. ....

Artificial intelligence (AI) can significantly improve the day-to-day operations of an IP office, but policymakers need to invest now to secure its full potential, said leading data experts this week.
