Incumbent Minnesota Rep. Dave Baker and challenger Fred Cogelow participated in a candidate forum held by the League of Women Voters of the Willmar Area on Tuesday. Each one spoke on why they should represent what is now District 16B for the next two years. Issues such as gun violence, abortion, economic development and the candidates' leadership and decision-making processes were raised during the forum.

Kandiyohi County and the city of Willmar did not fare well in Gov. Walz’s bonding bill announcement on Tuesday. None of the local projects requesting state bonding funds were on the governor’s list.
