A National Institutes of Heath official informs a U.S. representative that it is seeking data within 5 days from a nonprofit whose federally funded research on bat coronaviruses has come under scrutiny during the pandemic.

The federal agency told a G.O.P. House member that it had notified EcoHealth Alliance, a group criticized for its U.S.-funded work with Wuhan scientists, to file data within five days.
