Travis County District Attorney-elect José Garza on Thursday announced he is appointing former DA candidate Erin Martinson to lead the special victims unit at the DA’s office next year. Martinson lost to Garza in the Democratic primary after she campaigned on a platform of making sexual assault cases a priority — work she will partly focus on in this future role.
