The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics of the Yaba College of Technology, has complained about the illegal manner at which teaching staff of the polytechnic are taking over some positions meant for non-teaching staff.
Yabatech-SSANIP in a communiqué, threatened to go on strike if the situation was not rectified by the rector within two weeks.
The workers, who held a congress on campus on last week, listed the positions for which their members have been denied to include the Director, CITM, the Director, Works and Services, the Director, Physical Planning Unit, the Director, Consult and the Head of Fire Services. ....

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics, SSANIP, Yaba College of Technology, Yabatech, chapter, has given the Rector, Engineer Obafemi Omokungbe, two weeks to redress the situation whereby teaching staff have taken over some positions that are meant for non-teaching staff as prescribed by law.
The workers, who held a congress on campus on Thursday, listed the positions for which their members have been denied to include the Director, CITM, the Director, Works and Services, the Director, Physical Planning Unit, the Director, Consult and the Head of Fire Services. ....

The Lagos State Government has warned property owners and developers in the Magodo Residential Schemes to immediately desist from any development on the wetlands in the area, or face sanctions, a government statement issued on Sunday has said.
Dr Idris Salako, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, who handed the warning in the statement, said it was worrisome seeing people trying to take advantage of the sign-off of the Revised Schemes, by attempting to build houses on the wetlands without approval from relevant government agencies. ....
