The Count of Maui Department of Liquor Control will begin accepting license renewal applications starting Monday, April 1, 2024. Applications may be submitted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the department’s office located at the County of Maui Service Center in Kahului, 110 Ala‘ihi Street, Room 212.

ʻAwa gets a Generally Recognized as Safe determination from health department : Maui Now
The Hawai‘i State Department of Health, in collaboration with the University of Hawai‘i College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources has issued a memorandum this week detailing a Generally Recognized as Safe or GRAS determination for ‘awa. The DOH memorandum was developed to recognize the substantial history of consumption of the traditional ‘awa beverage by Native Hawaiians.
