SALTILLO • A recent surge in vandalism and theft has prompted the city of Saltillo to look at upgrading and expanding the security cameras at two large parks. The city recently sent out requests for bids to install new cameras with higher resolution and infrared capabilities at Saltillo City Park and the W.K. Webb Sportsplex. SALTILLO • Affidavit ballots trimmed Copey Grantham’s thin lead over two-term incumbent Rex Smith Wednesday afternoon, but they did not stop him from effectively winning Saltillo’s mayoral election. SALTILLO • Voters will decide who they want to lead the city of Saltillo —  two-term incumbent mayor Rex Smith or first-term alderman Copey Grantham — when they go to the polls next Tuesday.  The voters will also pare down the list of 14 candidates vying to sit on the city's board of aldermen down to just five who will serve until 2025. Police Chief Grant Bailey took to social media and the radio in mid-February to give citizens daily updates about road conditions and reminding people to stay off the roads if at all possible.
