The $68 billion Irish cement giant CRH's bidding partner for Adbri will be both a partner and a rival, because the Barro Group has a large privately-owned concrete business which is not part of the $2.1b deal.
Raymond Barro, chairman of Adbri, says the Barro family-owned business of 20 concrete plants in Victoria and Queensland is excluded from the deal.
