May 3, 2021 Police in Gates have scheduled a 10 a.m. news conference to discuss the arrests in last month's homicide on Buell Road, and the recent violence in the region. A second teenager surrendered Friday to face charges in the shooting death of 71-year-old Richard Sciascia (shah-shah) during an attempted carjacking on April 7th. Anthony Jacobs pleaded not guilty Friday to a murder charge. Alleged accomplice Edgar Tolentino was arrested earlier. Both are 16.  

Apr 29, 2021 Gates Police say they are looking for a teen in connection with the deadly attempted carjacking on Buell Road in Gates on April 7th. Police say they are looking for 16-year-old Anthony Jacobs in connection with the shooting death of Richard Sciascia. Jacobs is described as being six foot one and weighing 170lbs. 16-year-old Edgar Tolentino was arrested and charged with second degree murder in the case last week. Anyone with information is asked to call Gates Police.
