After a chaotic week, Chelsea residents and officials agreed to get back on track with a plan to elect new Selectboard members. The town road foreman, whose disagreements with the board were at the center of the controversy, is said to have returned to duty.

Simmering disagreements between board members and 29-year road commissioner Rick Ackerman boiled over this week, with resignations on both sides and a public meeting devolving into a “shouting match.”

James Robert Ackerman, 80, of New London, MN passed away peacefully on September 17, 2022. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date.
