There was a sharp rise in water firms’ overflows classed as having a ‘high spill frequency’ in England in 2022, according to Lib Dem analysis.

The number of 'high frequency spills' stood at 63% up on the year before, according to data uncovered by the Liberal Democrats. The government says it does not recognise the numbers.
