Rishad lodges complaint against Wimal

By Shamindra Ferdinando
All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) leader and Vanni District Samagi Jana Balavegaya lawmaker Rishad Bathiudeen yesterday (10) lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) requesting an inquiry into National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa’s claim that his brother Riyaj had been in touch with Easter Sunday bomber Zahran Hashim.
Addressing the media at the entrance to the CID headquarters, SJB lawmaker Bathiudeen alleged that Minister Weerawansa had made a deliberate bid to mislead the public when he delivered a speech at the Sri Sambuddhathva Jayanthi Mandiraya the previous day.
Bathiudeen said that neither he nor his brother had ever met Zahran Hashim or talked to him over the phone under any circumstances in the run-up to 2019 Easter Sunday carnage. The lawmaker alleged that Minister Weerawansa’s statement was meant to harm the Muslim community.

Colombo, Sri Lanka, Feb 24, 2021 / 01:26 pm MT (CNA).- The Sri Lankan government must release its report on the Easter 2019 terrorist attack on Christian churches and hotels, say Catholic leaders.
Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith of Colombo reportedly will not meet with any Sri Lanka politicians due to the delay. He has postponed meetings with Catholic members of parliament in both the government and the opposition, the Sri Lanka newspaper The Island reported, citing sources in the cardinal’s office.

The Curtain Falls

The term, ‘online’, pertains to the Internet. The ‘consumer’ is a person who buys things or enlists services. Therefore, the ‘online consumer’ can be defined as a person who engages in activities and achieves his goals through the use of internet and social media networks. With increasing globalization, humans are becoming busier and more dependent on the Internet. As a result, the number of people who used computers and the internet has increased exponentially, especially after the outbreak of COVID-19, which upended the world and caused almost all countries to be locked down partially or completely. Educational activities from primary to university students, various work-related day-to-day activities, bank transactions, etc., have come to be conducted online, causing an unprecedented increase in the number of online consumers.
