The not-for-profit housing provider has lodged a full planning application to build 16 affordable homes on Oldham Road, designed by architect Studio KMA.
The development is the first of a pipeline of schemes that the architecture studio and Social Value Housing are planning, focussing on the specialist housing and supported living sector.
The two organisations want to design and build schemes totalling around 500 homes across a number of brownfield sites in the North West. The next application is expected to be submitted to Rochdale Council within the next three months, requesting consent to build 72 homes.
The Oldham Road development is the first to showcase Studio KMA’s new housing product range based on modern methods of construction (MMC) – specifically, a panelised timber frame system.

ALBANY New York announced Wednesday it is opening 35 community-based pop-up vaccination sites this week at churches, community centers, public housing complexes and cultural centers.
The goal is to vaccinate more than 25,000 people through the week and add more sites weekly to reach as many communities as possible to get vaccines in as many arms as possible.
New York last month started a few pop-up sites, and they have provided nearly 9,000 first COVID-19 doses. Those sites will reopen to give out second doses in the coming weeks.
The move comes as more vaccines are headed to the state, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced, thanks to the federal government.
