Placer County COVID Vaccine Shortage Keeps Thousands From Getting Shot

County health officer Dr. Rob Oldham says they're experiencing a "vaccine gap," meaning their current capacity to administer vaccines far exceeds their supply. Last week, only four thousand Placer County residents got the vaccine. Public health officials say ramp up the pace to 20,000 people per week, but they just don't have enough supply. First Doses OF COVID Vaccine Arrive In Placer County

By Sasha Margulies, iHeart Media Dec 17, 2020 Placer County health care workers are set to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine this week. The county's interim health officer Dr. Rob Oldham announced that four-thousand health care workers will be vaccinated this week and another three-thousand doses are on the way for long-term care facility residents. The arrival of the vaccines comes as Placer County ran out of available adult ICU beds earlier this week.
