Relentless heat and heat indices will continue for Acadiana into the weekend, but at least we may see some storms Sunday afternoon to give the area a very small break.
Acadiana's summer heat streak will continue for the foreseeable future as rain chances ease while temperatures overall rise into the mid-upper 90s over the next week to 10 days.
After a decent scattering of afternoon/early evening thunderstorms expected for Acadiana during the afternoon/evening, rain chances for the area look to tone down toward the end of the week.
There's been a slow uptick on scattered shower & t-shower activity across Acadiana over the last couple of days, with a better trend of rain coverage expected to continue, especially by Thursday.
Thanks to more clouds and a few thundershowers today, for the first time in 10 days Acadiana did not have a heat warning or an advisory in effect...and more scattered storms are expected to come.
