Nearly nine years after the brutal murder of her mother in Indonesia, Heather Mack is set to potentially plead guilty this month to federal charges related to the August 2014 killing of Sheila von Wiese-Mack.
The newly released messages between the Chicago area resident and her boyfriend come as she faces trial July 31, accused of plotting to kill her mother, whose body was found in a suitcase at a posh resort in 2014.
Although Mack was convicted in Indonesia, U.S. prosecutors filed their own case, accusing her of conspiring to commit the murder.
A Chicago judge declined to ease bond conditions and release Heather Mack, who is charged with conspiracy in the 2017 killing of her socialite mother in Bali.
