Angolan billionaire Isabel dos Santos on Wednesday lost her fight against an application in London's High Court to freeze up to 580 million pounds ($735 million) of her assets.   Dos Santos – Africa's first female billionaire, whose father Jose Eduardo dos Santos ruled Angola for 38 years until 2017 – has faced corruption accusations in the southern African country for years, Reuters reports.   She denies the allegations and says she is the target of a long-running political vendetta.  

Isabel dos Santos is being sued by telecoms operator Unitel SA, a company she founded during her father Jose Eduardo dos Santos' 38 years-long reign as president, which came to an end in 2017.

On Friday, Indian businessman Prateek Gupta's bid to remove a global freezing order on his assets in a Trafigura fraud case was unsuccessful in a London court. Trafigura accused Gupta's companies of systematic fraud, leading to the freezing order.
