Convicted leader of plot to kidnap Michigan governor sentenced to 16 years in federal prison
A ruling has been made in the trial of a man who plotted to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
A man convicted in a plot to abduct Michigan’s Democratic governor from her vacation home has been sentenced to 16 years in federal prison. Adam Fox was convicted in August of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and to use a weapon of mass destruction to attack Whitmer, who had drawn the ire of far-right groups for her efforts to curb the spread of Covid in 2020. It was said to be the longest so far for any of the defendants convicted in federal court in one of the country’s most closely watched domestic terrorism cases.
