Theft of Chevrolet Monte Carlo from car lot reported
The Wilkesboro Police Department is investigating a report of the theft of a 1983 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS from Alpha Tango Auto Sales on River Street. Officer D.B. Wyatt said the wife of Robert Pless, owner of the car, told him on Dec. 10 that the vehicle was stolen about 10:50 p.m. the prior night. Wyatt said a security video showed a man walking from N.C. 268 stealing a license plate from a Chevrolet Suburban at the nearby U.S. Wheel and Tire and then putting it on the Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. The security video showed the male then drive away in the Monte Carlo, Wyatt said.
