York County Sheriff's Office arrests 10 in sex investigation for targeting underage girls

The York County Sheriff’s Office has charged 10 people in a sex investigation, saying they targeted suspects from several states who sought underage children online. That according to County Sheriff Kevin Tolson who said they targeted what were believed to be underage girls, between the ages of 10 and 17, through online apps. 5 suspects were from South Carolina and 5 were from North Carolina, including one who is a registered sex offender released from federal prison earlier this Spring. A Fort Mill location was used by police to lure in 7 of the suspects. The other 3 were arrested after online activity was found to be criminal. The FBI, Homeland Security, SLED and several other police agencies were involved in the operation, which took place from March 10th to the 14th. ....

Theft of Chevrolet Monte Carlo from car lot reported

The Wilkesboro Police Department is investigating a report of the theft of a 1983 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS from Alpha Tango Auto Sales on River Street.
Officer D.B. Wyatt said the wife of Robert Pless, owner of the car, told him on Dec. 10 that the vehicle was stolen about 10:50 p.m. the prior night.
Wyatt said a security video showed a man walking from N.C. 268 stealing a license plate from a Chevrolet Suburban at the nearby U.S. Wheel and Tire and then putting it on the Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS.
The security video showed the male then drive away in the Monte Carlo, Wyatt said. ....
