Woman says surgeon left tubing inside of her during surgery
CHARLESTON — A Mingo County woman is suing Dr. Robert Shin after a CT scan found a foreign body inside her pelvis that was left during surgery. Heather Thompson went to Shin for weight loss surgery and after the procedure, she continued to experience flank pain, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court. Thompson went to Dr. Jose Auditor for a CT scan and a catheter fragment was found in her left hemipelvis and she underwent surgery to remove the fragment by Dr. David Denning on March 5, 2020.
