Canton police arrest murder suspect, search for second suspect
Repository staff report CANTON – One of two men wanted in connection with the shooting death of a Massillon man has surrendered to Canton authorities. Robert L. Torrence II, 29, of Sixth Street SW, turned himself in to Canton police at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to Lt. Dennis Garren, police spokesman. A second suspect, Thomas R. Humphrey, 48, of Blair Place SW, remains at large, Garren said. The men are wanted in the death of Devon Meredith, 27. Meredith was found shot to death in a home in the 1400 block of Sixth Street SW around 1 p.m. Monday. Police had been called to that home in ...
