The City of Lincoln received the U.S. Vision Zero for Youth Leadership Award for school zone safety improvements at Saratoga Elementary School Tuesday.
The scooter program is part of the city’s plan to have a more efficient and eco-friendly transportation system across Lincoln.
From Pinnacle Bank Arena to the Haymarket the center of the city has always seen some form of expansion.To promote better safety and transportation, Lincoln Transportation and Utilities partnered with Lime, an e-scooter company to bring a new travel option for residents.After a testing period, Lime is here to stay with its notable colored scooters lining the streets.Visitors of the Haymarket took the scooters out for a spin but not before learning the benefits of this mode of travel.
The city's permanent scooter program launched Tuesday after a 16-month pilot program.
