A Sheffield man is asking for $50 million in a new Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit he filed against former Sheffield police officer Max Dotson.
The Alabama police officer was named in another lawsuit.
Sheffield Police Lt. Max Dotson is currently being sued for his alleged involvement in the police dog attack of Marvin Long.
Body camera footage of the incident between police and Marvin Long went viral last month. Long was unarmed and had committed no crime, he suit notes.
The 53-year-old disabled veteran was confronted on his home’s front porch, the lawsuit says.
