Ronald Serich, 80, jumped off the second floor of Vadja House, in Sydney's inner-west, during the early hours of Tuesday as the Newtown property went up in flames.
Police confirmed they were treating the inferno at the Vadja House in Newtown as a murder investigation, after it burst into flames around 1am on Tuesday.
