You have to believe at some point somebody reprogrammed the autopilot. that could have been done on the ground prior to liftoff. not uncommon for all pilots to put several routings in their autopilot. the mfs, what they use to input the autopilot could have been programmed three days before they left for all we know. i heard a couple of commentators talk about the pilot would have to see him reinput all that information. bill: would you? no, not at all. bill: really? not at all. bill: if you re the copilot or pilot or whomever you could do it without the other guy even seeing it? absolutely. the pilot read be newspaper. bill: this is 30 minutes in the flight. correct. correct. now the copilot goes over and punches in a new routing which is in emmemory in the fms and goes into the autopilot an starts the turn. bill: what about the flight simulate or in the home, how significant could that be if files were deleteed? originally i thought it was ....

The case. how do they know that this flight plan was either preprogrammed or changed in the air? how in the world would they get the idea that that is the case? i think you are going to look at the initial routing and what the airline foiled before that flight. that was the initial data put in the flight management system. outside of that air traffic control would give them instructions to reroute if necessary. that could be weather or traffic flow or whatever. outside of that, they would not really know if the pilot inputted that until he went off the preplanned course and then air traffic controllers would question. how would we know that now? you would only know that by interviewing the air traffic controller and people controlling the data at that ....

Routing and then both pilots usually check it once the pilot nying says yeah, it looks good, execute, then procedurally what we do is push the button and execute and then the aircraft automatically flies to that point over those waypoints. so it s a relatively easy procedure for experienced, trained pilot who knows what he or she is doing up in the cockpit. jim, i want to be precise on this. you ve been speaking to your law enforcement sources, national security sources from day one. they are still working under the assumption they have no hard evidence of a terrorist plot but they do think increasingly it was a human being that caused whatever happened as opposed it to some disastrous mechanical failure. that s right. they lean heavily towards it being a deliberate act. again, when you get to the next step, where is this plane today, i will say that there aren t ....

And, you know, i don t know, and i don t really want to speculate. it could be the pilots. it could be the procedures weren t followed up properly. maybe the door wasn t guarded properly when one of the pilots had to go to the bathroom. i mean, who knows. but it s looking, you know, up there in the 90 percentile that this is what happened to the airplane. based on the information that we have been talking about in these last 24 hours, at this point, then, does it seem farfetched that this jet simply disintegrated since it appears it took a routing where it seems that it deliberately was avoiding the ground radar? well, you know, if a catastrophic event took place and was initiated by the hijackers, that s one thing, but the notion that it disintegrated like twa flight 800, that event was seen for literally hundreds ....

Pipelines in the state unconstitutional. the judge ruled that david hyneman exceeded his authority. only the nebraska public service commission has regulatory control of the routing of the pipeline. three nebraska land owners effected by the proposed route challenged the law. today the judge ruled in their favor. the ruling includes an injunction that prevents the governor from taking any further action to authorize or advance the pipeline. this chelearly is a big development for those who are opposed to the pipeline and environmental groups. i will visit with one of these land owners who testified on friday in nebraska. i ll have him coming up later next week. randy thompson is his name. ....
