The Election Commission has taken action against Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar following allegations of threatening voters to vote for Congress in exchange for Cauvery water supply. The action comes after videos surfaced showing Shivakumar promising water supply in exchange for votes for his brother, DK Suresh, the Congress candidate for Bengaluru Rural parliamentary constituency. The controversy has sparked accusations from the BJP and JD(S), who have accused the DK brothers of 'blackmailing' voters.
